University of Brighton

The University of Brighton and its Students’ Union were awarded Fairtrade status in 2007. The award was renewed in 2009 and 2012, and marks the institution’s continued commitment to making a wide range of Fair trade products easily available across all university sites, and to raising awareness of the Fair trade ethos amongst students and staff members.

The university and Students’ Union and internal departments organise events such as Fairtrade fortnight, to raise awareness of the Fairtrade ethos.

In 2012, the university promoted Fairtrade loyalty card and a Faith and Fairtrade event was organised by the Chaplaincy. In previous years, the university has organised fair trade fairs and a film screening.
