Meet the Team
A public sector accountant, I worked in local government, further education and the local credit union. I was elected as a labour and co-operative city councillor in 2019, and have chaired the fair trade steering group since the summer of 2020.
I am a supply chain specialist. With experience, Social Enterprises, UN bodies, and The Body Shop. Currently WFTO Fair Trade Expert for MADE51 a 100% refugee made brand, Non Exec director People Tree Fair Trade Group, and Global Community Director for Fashion Revolution.
I am a voluntary fairtrade rep for Traidcraft, and Tearcraft. I got involved as a teenager in the 1970’s in Wirksworth, Derbyshire. In 1995, I started supplying our 4 United Reformed Churches in London, then 3 in Hove & Portslade and now at Brighthelm in Brighton among other local churches and groups.
I was a journalist for 30 years before becoming a consumer affairs specialist in the areas of debt, credit and identity fraud, working with government and advice organisations in the UK, Europe and the US. I am vice-chair of B&H Co-operative Party and an active member of the Labour Party.
I’m one of the elected members on Brighton and Hove City Council, representing the Hollingdean and Stanmer Ward for the Green Party. As Chair of the Procurement Advisory Board, I’m working on getting the council to support more ethical and sustainable markets, which includes more Fairtrade.
I am secretary for the Brighton and Hove Fair Trade group.
I have worked in fair trade and labour rights since 1984 when I joined The Body Shop International for 10 years. I am an adviser to the Rwenzori Sustainable Trade Programme in the Mountains of the Moon in Uganda with whom I have worked since 2012 in the development of Fairtrade supply chains in coffee, cocoa and cotton as well as with women’s craft groups who work to the WFTO Fair Trade Principles. I specialize in gender, development and international labour rights as an independent consultant. I am an Associate member of WFTO.
I am an International Development with Italian student at the University of Sussex. I am a voluntary social media manager for the Brighton & Hove Fair Trade group.
I am a local volunteer for Shared Interest, a fair trade lending organisation which uses the pooled investments of its members to finance cooperatives and others involved in fair trade across the world.
