Brighton & Hove Fair trade market 19th June 2010

It's the Fair Trade Market this Saturday 19th June at the Friends Meeting House, Ship Street, Brighton from 11 am - 4 pm so hurrah for that.

Outside is looking good this month. We will have local cheeses, bread and cakes, veg from Whitehawk Community Project (fingers crossed!), yummy fresh pesto and tomato sauces, jams and marmalade but sorry no Japanese sweets until August. Please come and support our food producers. We will also have Moroccan lights and some furniture by Eclectica, and African dresses, flip flops and more from Oh So Shika. Voices in Exile will be running the cafe and we aim to have tables and chairs in the garden as we're sure that June will be sweet and the blossoms are out.

Inside we will have: shirts from Nepal; jewellery from Kenya, Chile, Nepal, Uganda, Mexico, Tibet, Thailand, Palestine; olive oil and pottery from Palestine; coffee, t-shirts and mugs from Cuba; lace crochet shawls, flower necklaces and brooches from India; wallhangings and cushion covers from Bolivia; wooden games from India; handcarved wooden spoons from Kenya; silk scarves from Cambodia and India; bags from Tibet, Cambodia, Guatamala and Nepal; metal sea decorations from Mexico; cotton scarves from Guatemala; blankets from Tibet and more besides.

Our shop at Brighton Marina, Unit 9 Mermaid Walk now has 26 countries represented. New in are some awesome baskets from Botswana, some lovely handloomed bedspreads from India, some one-off embroidered dresses from India, and just a taster of wallhangings from Zambia. It's open from Thursday to Sunday 11 am - 5 pm.

FAIR is open for summer finery, great jewellery and more at 21 Queen's Road, Brighton every day from 10 am - 5 pm.
